On International Youth Day, August 12, 2023, our team actively participated in a cleaning exercise at the Lumley and Aberdeen beach areas, which are severely exposed to plastic pollution, seaweed, and other waste materials. Organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs in partnership with the Psychology of Winning Organization, the cleaning exercise brings together more than 500 youths from different organizations and universities nationwide.
The cleaning exercise lasted for about four hours, and our team collaborated with the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Psychology of Winning Organization, youths, and other organizations during the event. We collectively cleaned the Lumley and Aberdeen beaches, removing seaweed, plastic waste, and other trash.
At Route 360 Solutions Initiative, we believe that it is the collective responsibility of the government, the private sector, academic institutions, and the general public to always keep our environment clean. Addressing environmental issues is very challenging, but with collective efforts, it is possible to safeguard our surroundings, lives, and properties against plastic/marine pollution, flooding, and related challenges.
Our team appreciates the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Affairs and the Psychology of Winning Organization for the opportunity given to our team to join others to keep the Lumley and Aberdeen beaches and preserve that environment while promoting tourism, which is one of the most significant sectors in Sierra Leone. As a recycling enterprise, we are always open to such kind of collaboration.
