Re-afforesting Freetown City

Re-afforesting Freetown City is a project promoting climate action in Sierra Leone through reforestation and afforestation. By 2030, the project aims to plant 10,000 trees and educate 10,000 people about afforestation and reforestation in 50 communities, including Regent, Grafton, Leicester, and Malama, amongst others, in the Western Area of Sierra Leone. The project, directed by our CEO, Joseph Turay, and Led by our BDR, Mohamed Kickende Conteh, will collaborate with youth and women in the selected communities to achieve its goals and objectives. By end of 2025, the project aims to plant 800 trees in Regent, Grafton, Leicester, and Malama, and sensitize 800 people about afforestation and deforestation in these communities. So far, the project has educated over 220 people about afforestation and reforestation and trained 16 youth, including women, as arborists, in the Regent, Grafton, Malama, and Leicester communities.
