Re-afforesting Freetown City Project at Gbabayilla Phase 2, Malama Community

After successful engagements at the Regent and Grafton, on 15th March, the Route 360 Solutions Initiative’s (R360SI) team took the Re-afforesting Freetown City (RFC) Project community engagement on afforestation, reforestation, and deforestation to the Malama Community — the last targeted community for this year. Occurred at Gbabayilla, Phase 2, over 70 people, including the Local Chief and other relevant stakeholders, were gathered to participate in the event. Led by the RFC Project Assistant Lead, Mohamed K. Conteh, and R360SI’s COO, Alusine Hassan Bangura, with the support of volunteers, including Elijah Edwin, Sallieu Barba Kamara, and Alpha Conteh, the program allowed the participants to learn about the significance of reforestation and afforestation, and why they should join the fight against deforestation in their community. With so much excitement among the community members, the Local Chief emphasizes the importance of economic trees to their community. Our team is very excited to work with the Malama community residents to plant 200 trees in their community in the coming months.
