On 1st and 15th November 2025, Route 360 Solutions Initiative, through the Building Climate Resilience in the Slums Project, trained 25 youth and women as recyclers in the Kroo Bay slum. During the training, they were equipped and supported with the right tools and resources to recycle single-use plastic waste into paving blocks. The first training, which took place on 1st November, involved ten youth and women. In the final training, which took place on 15th November, the youth and women who had been empowered in the first training equipped 15 other youth and women using the training-the-trainer approach. The participants were excited about the training and expected the project to continue in their community.
