Last year, we applied for the Social Shifters Global Innovation Challenge; unfortunately, we were not selected. This year, we reapplied and were selected as a finalist in the Gen category. Being selected for this year’s final allowed us to pitch our work at Route 360 Solutions Initiative and the impact we want to create in the lives of those we serve to the Social Shifter team and their partners.
Although we were not selected as the winner, we are proud of the progress we made — from not being selected in 2023 to being a finalist in 2024. We are grateful to the Social Shifters team and our assigned pitching prep coach for their countless support throughout the process. Without their assistance, we wouldn’t have made it this far.
We want to congratulate all the winners in our category. It was a great pleasure to compete with and learn from our fellow young people who also strive to make a lasting impact in their communities. This demonstrates the significant role young people play in making the world a better place for all.
We didn’t win a grant, but the experience and feedback we gained in the competition are valuable to our team, and we plan to use them to strengthen our position in future competitions. We wish all the winners all the very best as they go on to drive positive change in their respective communities.
