The Route 360 Solutions Initiative’s Team Kickstart the Re-afforesting Freetown City Project in the Regent Community

With so much anticipated in 2024, the Route 360 Solutions Initiative’s team kicked off the Re-afforesting Freetown City (RFC) in the Regent community with a community engagement on afforestation, reforestation, and deforestation at the Regent community center. Over 50 community members, including the Regent community Councilor, Headman, and others, participated in the engagement. Mrs. Yatta Kamara from the Freetown City Council (FCC) engaged the participants on “How Trees Help Mitigate Climate Change.” Sulaiman Barrie from Sierra Leone Sierra EcoHeat deliberated on “Eco-friendly Fuel Alternatives to Reduce Tree Cutting,” while Sallieu Barba Kamara, an Agricultural Consultant and Soil Scientist, discussed “The Environmental Benefits of Trees, Afforestation, and Deforestation.” The event was chaired by our BDR and RFC project co-lead, Mohamed K. Conteh, and our CEO, Joseph Turay, COO, Alusine H. Bangura, and other team members were present.
